Shawe
Memorial Junior/Senior High School, a 2006 National Blue Ribbon School of Excelence,
welcomes students of all faiths, races and academic abilities
to become a part of our Christian community. We offer a safe
learning environment where students are encouraged to take responsibility,
be creative, develop their skills and take part in service to
others. Shawe Memorial, in partnership with the family, guides
each student to grow to the fullest potential possible and prepare
for a life filled with learning.
Founded
in 1952 as Madison Central Catholic, the school was named Shawe Memorial two years later in honor of Indiana's first Catholic priest who first came to Madison and founded St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in 1839.
We are a co-educational Catholic school
for grades 7-12. Shawe Memorial is affiliated with the Archdiocese
of Indianapolis. It is through the students, parents, faculty,
and administration that Shawe Memorial continues the tradition
of excellence in Catholic education. Today, Shawe Memorial offers
a quality, college-preparatory education to 159 students in
Madison, Jefferson County, and our surrounding communities.
