SECONDARY PHYSICAL EDUCATION 9
Required: Grade 9
2 Semesters - 1 Credit

This course provides scientifically based opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and attitudes for all students through fundamental movements, rhythmic, sport, and fitness activities. The overall aim is to help students develop lifelong skills that include regular vigorous exercise and sporting activities. The key is to assist individuals in assuming responsibility for their own health and well-being through an active lifestyle for total wellness. Physical education strives to promote the complete development of the physical, social, mental, emotional, and ethical growth of all individuals.

HEALTH EDUCATION
Required: Grade 10

Health education provides instructional opportunities in the following areas of content: safety and first aid, nutrition, family health, growth and development, substance use and abuse, personal health, environmental heal, emotional and mental health and disease and prevention control..
