Cub Scouts

Cub Scouting is a year-round family oriented part of the BSA program designed for boys who are in the 1st through 5th grades. Parents, leaders and Pope John XXIII work together to achieve a character building organization that embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, co-operation, courage, faith, health, honesty, perseverance, positive attitudes, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility. The boys in Pack 719 work within their grade (den); school group (Pack) and district/council level. Having fun is key in our quest for good character.

Dance Classes

Nancy Hart-Kidwell teaches dance lessons at Pope John Elementary. She choreographs and teaches routines in the areas of tap, ballet, and jazz. She currently has seventy-one students. Lessons are offered to students in preschool through third grade. The year concludes with a dance recital in April.

Students at Pope John may go to extended care each day for a fee. Extended care continues until 5:15 p.m. Children may be signed up for any of the other activities and check in and out of extended care. The time is divided into time for play, snack, assisted homework time, fun or more schoolwork.
