Commission for Stewardship - Finance (Mark Strange)
Collections are counted on Monday mornings (Tuesday when banks are closed on Monday.) At the present time there are five teams of counters, each taking one week per month (fifth team counts only on fifth Monday.) If interested in helping please mark on your stewardship card.
Meetings begin at 7:00 pm on the third Sunday of the month. As always, if you cannot host a meeting in the month scheduled, please try to switch with someone. Also, please call Pat at the CCC (265-4166) if you know ahead of time that you are switching so she can change it in the Sunday bulletin.
If you know of someone who would make a good KC member, encourage them to join.
Congratulations to the two newest councils in the State Family., St. Meinrad Archabbey, and Edinburgh. We are sending seed money to these councils to help them with the startups. Our degree team will be going to Edinburgh to put on a First Degree for them on the 29th.

If you have changed your ISPs like I have, your email address has probably changed. Mine has, it is now

. Please send me an email with your new address. The reason for the lateness of the newsletter has been that I was in KDH from Friday,13th to the 18th. Am in good health except for Sciatica in my right leg. Please pray for me.
You can always read the newsletter on the parish website at http://www.popeace.org/joomla15/index.php. That will come out before the printed paper gets to you. Another reason for getting the electronic version either through email or the parish website. Go to the Organization menu and you will see the Knights of Columbus page.
Fri. Meals
This can be a money-making opportunity for our parish organizations, but it is up to you to ask for a night. We have missed the last 3 Fridays so if we don’t get started soon we’ll lose the usual crowd. We can obtain the food for you if you wish, tell us what you want. Of course, you will have to pay for the food, the profits are yours. Check the sign for the meals which are coming.

Worldwide Rosary of Guadalupan Love
Knights of Columbus and their families around the world will unite under the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe to pray the Rosary of Guadalupan Love on Sept. 8, the Universal Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
On Sept. 8, we will pray the rosary for Our Lady’s intercession for unity and peace,” said Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson. “We will pray that the new evangelization will cause the Culture of Life to flourish on all continents and among all people, and that Our Lady of Guadalupe intercedes with her Son to guide our councils in their charitable work.” The Rosary of Guadalupan Love will be prayed in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Sept. 8 from 9-10 p.m. (ET). This special worldwide rosary is being organized by the Knights of Columbus, the Archdiocese of Mexico City and the Institute of Guadalupan Studies in observance of the bicentennial of Mexico’s independence. The event honors Our Lady of Guadalupe as the “Shield and the Patroness of Our Liberty” and as the Mother of the Civilization of Love.
The Rosary of Guadalupan Love is designed to connect the messages Our Lady of Guadalupe gave to St. Juan Diego with the seven sacraments of the Church and the Church as the sacrament of salvation.“The message of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a message that reflects the great commandment of our Lord to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mt 22:39),” the Supreme Knight said. “It is a universal message of reconciliation, healing and unity. This event will unite in prayer all Knights and their families, and all dioceses of the Church throughout the world.” The intention of the Rosary of Guadalupan Love is to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe’s role in uniting the hemisphere and her important role in building a Civilization of Love.
The worldwide appeal of Our Lady of Guadalupe is reflected in her many titles, including the Patroness of all America, the Patroness of Mexico, the Patroness of the Philippines, Patroness of the Unborn, Star of the New World, Star of the New Evangelization and Mother of the Civilization of Love.
When he took office as Supreme Knight in October, 2000, Carl Anderson dedicated his administration to Our Lady of Guadalupe, renewing devotion to her throughout the Order.“Pope Benedict XVI has reminded us that through the love of Our Lady of Guadalupe we can hear and respond to the words of Christ: ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations’ (Mt 28:19),” Supreme Knight Anderson added.
God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, You called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant Fr. Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of Your Holy Will. Through his Intercession, grant the request I now make (mention your request.) Through Christ, our Lord,Amen.
Continue with and finish the prayer with an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be.
