A short talk from a Pastoral Council person will be given once a month at the masses for the weekend. This month talk is from Pam Deveary, Pastoral Council Chairperson and was presented the weekend of March 20, 21.
The Prince of Peace Catholic Community website supports the Parish mission through the use of Web technology, enhancing the POP Parish value to its many audiences. These audiences include parishioners, students, parents, teachers, administrators, office staff, volunteers, prospective parishioners, prospective students and their families, neighbors, visitors and the general public.
The new school year is underway and soon our faith formation and spiritual life opportunities will be in full swing. Let us keep each other in prayer that the fullness of Christ's love may touch every aspect of our lives.
The Prince of Peace Pastoral Council met at 6pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2010at the rectory. Larry Wickersham let the opening prayer. Members present were: Robert Bolton, Brenda Cummins, Pam Deveary, Susan Goley, Sister Alice Marie Gronotte, Father John Meyer, Joe Seaver, Mark Strange, Priscilla Torline and John Zubaty.
OLD BUSINESS: Historical information will be in individual reports. Discussion will be on new information.
SPIRITUAL LIFE: Choir practice for the Lent and Easter season will begin in February. The next Christ Renews His Parish for women will be in November 2010. Pam Deveary
PARISH LIFE: A baptismal program took place on January 25. Joe Seaver has made contact with the Archdiocese regarding mission work in Haiti. At this time, medical personnel are preferred. A trip to Derby Dinner Playhouse will take place on March 12. John Zubaty
YOUTH COUNCIL: Youth group meets weekly on Wednesday at 6:30pm at the Catholic Community Center. Susan Goley
FAITH FORMATION: The facilitators of the Small Church Communities met on January 13, 2010. The Adult Catechetical Team met on January 19. The book, Disciples on a Mission, is available at the Catholic Community. Brenda Cummins
