The next Parish Stewardship meeting is scheduled for  August 26, 2009 at 6 p.m. downtown at the rectory.

These meetings are bi-monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month.  The schedule for the rest of the year is every month the Parish Council does not meet.  i.e. August and October and skipping December for the Christmas holiday.   The Parish Council will meet next in September.

Please attend if you are interested in what is new and exciting about the Stewardship Program at Prince of Peace.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Prince of Peace is weathering the financial storm better than most organizations.  Thank you all for your support.  


IMPORTANT  --  TAX-FREE CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 31, 2009

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 extends the charitable donation provision originally provided in the Pension Protection Act of 2006.  The provision allows individuals age 70 1/2 and older to take distributions from their IRA assets, and donate them to qualified charities.  
NOTE:  To qualify for the tax-free distribution from the IRA, the distribution must be made payable to the qualified charitable organization.  Please contact your tax advisor for more information.
