The Legion of Mary was established in Dublin, Ireland in 1921 by Servant of God Frank Duff. Today it is the largest lay apostolic organization of men and women in the Catholic Church with well over six million active members around the world.
Locally, members offer their services to Fr. John by aiding him in performing Catholic actions within the parish. Examples of this apostolic work include visiting the sick, the home-bound, or those in nursing homes; providing information to new parents using a special publication of Our Sunday Visitor; and conducting communion and prayer services. Legionaries place themselves under the banner of the Blessed Virgin so that with her help they may develop greater holiness in their own lives.
Won't you consider visiting during a weekly meeting held each Wednesday at 3PM at the Catholic Community Center? Won't you pray:
"Mary, at Fatima you asked for sacrifice. For some in the world this means the sacrifice of life, home and loved ones. Perhaps you ask of me a few hours of my time spent for God. Gratefully, I will offer this so that I, too, can say with Mary's Legion, I am all thine, my Queen, my Mother, and all that I have is thine."?
