. Welcome to the Prince of Peace Ladies Organization.
We are a group comprised of all the women of Prince of Peace Parish. We meet six times a year. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of September, October, December, February, March and May. Each meeting begins with 5:30 mass at St. Patricks followed by a light dinner prepared by that month's hostess committee and then we have our meeting. Our year begins in September. This is one of our most busy months as we prepare for the annual Chautauqua Bake Sale. Funds from this fund raiser helps to pay for the monthly professional cleaning of our church. The other weeks of the month are covered by volunteers of our parish. In October we prepare for the Annual Salad Luncheon. This usually occurs during the third or fourth Friday in October during Fall Break. In December we gather but we hold no meeting. At this celebration we have a dinner and a small gift exchange. We also have the opportunity for those who wish to give to birthline. In February and March we prepare for the annual St. Patrick Card Party. This takes place on the Tuesday of Spring Break. It gives families, card clubs and anyone interested in a fun night to get togther and enjoy good friends and good food. Our last meeting is held in May. At this meeting we wrap the accomplishments of the year and plan for the next. This past July we had our first annual gathering at the back of the Catholic Community Center. The Organization paid for the drinks and meat while the ladies brought wonderful sides. Our current officers are: Mary Rose Carlow President Stella Bruner Vice-President Kathy Ayers Treasurer Sharon Schafer Secretary Our organization not only has the church cleaned but we provide other services to the parish. We have five funeral committees. We provide refreshments for the Easter Vigil, Golden Shamrock reception, and other church related receptions. We host a Lenten Luncheon at the Democratic headquarters. We give to the Ulster project and Special Olympics to name a few. If you have any questions about the Ladies Organization please feel free to call any of us. We would love to talk to you about what we do. With Peace, Mary Rose Carlow |
