Mission
Friends was founded with the purpose of providing financial support for educational programs at Shawe Memorial Junior-Senior High School and Pope John XXIII Elementary. Financial support is provided through an endowed fund of over 2 million dollars.
History
In 1986, a small group met to discuss how to best support the future of Catholic education at Shawe Memorial Junior-Senior High School and Pope John XXIII Elementary. Several weeks later, Friends of Shawe and Pope John School, Inc. was born. Since that time, Friends has contributed more than $1,000,000 to direct improvement to the two schools. More than $3 million has been contributed to Friends and currently, more than $2,000,000 has been invested in the permanent endowment. The endowment principal contains both restricted and non-restricted funds and is professionally managed by Wallington Asset Management of Indianapolis, Indiana.
